Drawing upon new research from sociology, peace and conflict studies, gender studies, media studies, and future and curriculum studies, “Educating Beyond Violent Futures” offers resources of hope for developing conflict resolution skills and building cultures of peace. Practical curriculum ideas are offered for innovative approaches to future teaching. A strong case is developed for broadening our notions of literacy beyond the 3R’s if our children are to be better prepared for living constructively in the early 21st century.
