Description
On 11 January 2001, the results of the Commission to Assess United States National Security Space Management and Organization were published. The commission was directed to assess the organization and management of space activities in support of US national security.2 The commission was led by Donald H. Rumsfeld, prior to his selection as the Secretary of Defense, and included twelve other senior congressman, senators and retired general and flag officers across the Army, Air Force (AF), and Navy. In the report, the commission provided the prophetic statement shown above as they attempted to highlight the real threat to US Space capabilities.
