Temperament and Computer Play Patterns in Preschool Age Children, Wright, Bryan, 9783639013900

Description

Preschool children are gaining widespread computer access yet there is little known about how a child’s personality affects his or her interest in computers. This book contains an academic empirical study which investigates the relationship between temperament and computer play patterns among preschool age children. The author went into 3 preschools, set up a computer play center, and asked teachers to provide their observations about each child’s computer play. Parents were asked to fill out questionnaires about their children’s temperament. Results indicate that there is interplay between children’s gender, personality, and computer play patterns. Results of the study are discussed in light of the “goodness of fit model”. This book would be of interest to researchers investigating topics of computer play and personality. Kristina Sobko received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of California Santa Barbara. While there, Kristina completed a project about multimedia learning published in the Journal of Educational Psychology. Kristina then pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology degree at California State University Fullerton.
