This special edition of “Educational Psychologist” presents contributor’s synthesized work on reading motivation and engagement. The work is based on research findings from the National Reading and Research Centre (NRRC) at the Universities of Georgia and Maryland. Topics include: the effect of home and family on motivation; designing contexts to increase motivation; and literacy and assessment practices.
